Make your resume graphically stand out
Having a strong background isn’t completely enough for catch a hiring managers attention. Simple ideas include adding lines, borders, colored bullets with your name and other titles in a bold text. You don’t want the resume to be overly designed but find a way to set yourself apart.
Don't forget to proofread
This tip may seem obvious, but grammatical and spelling errors are still prevalent in resumes. It doesn’t hurt to read over your resume multiple times to make sure it’s perfect or even have someone else look it over. Again, this is your first impression so it needs to be as professional as possible. If there are errors throughout your resume, it looks like you can’t write or simply don’t care. If an employer has a stack of resumes, one of the easiest ways to find the perfect candidate is to eliminate all of the candidates that don’t take the time to double check their resume.
